Final Countdown!

The final countdown for departure to Colorado has begun -the hubby and I are leaving Saturday!!!

I'd like to thank everyone for their concern, good wishes, and prayers! Apparently I know more people than I thought I did and you all seem to be genuinely concerned about me - who knew?! :)

The most common question that I'm answering these days is whether or not I'm getting scared/nervous/etc. As I explained to the hubby, this is sort of like our wedding - anti-climatic - allow me to explain...

I'm a planner and despite the somewhat apparent messiness of my car/house/office, I'm organized and a list maker. I planned every last detail of our wedding, so the actual day felt somewhat anti-climatic because I knew exactly what was going to happen and how everything was going to look. Don't get me wrong, it was wonderful and one of the best days of my life, but there weren't really any surprises (other than a wax incident during the ceremony and the best man's speech - not even a late cake delivery stressed me out).

I've planned every detail of the trip - and then created a 3 page itinerary for my entire family and close friends including ALL of the pertinent details. Everything is planned out (including meals, snacks, and entertainment). So again, it's anti-climatic. But that's okay...I don't think surprise are a good thing when it comes to brain surgery :)

Oh and thanks to everyone that has loaned me books and DVDs!! I can't wait!

couple of things.

My prayers will be said for your trip, surgery and a quick recovery.

what is this wax incident at your wedding? did someone get waxed? was wax spilled on something? burned by wax? imagine my mental pics.

i might need you to blog about the sex and the city episodes. im thinking you might want to open a new blog for your tv show recaps.

can't wait till you are willing to have visitors... well mainly visits from EHW. i will come prepared with snacks and dirty mad libs. so be thinking of some nouns and verbs to fill in.

lastly, i am going to miss you. who am i going to visit when i am bored silly? who am i going to steal mini snacks and dry roasted peanuts from? who am i going to make random greeting cards for? who am i going to stare at while pumping anti bacterial gel into my hands? well i just don't know. i think everyone is going to be sick of me. so in short, thanks for being that person who doesn't get sick of ehw visits.

wow my comment is more like a blog... interesting.

xoxo,
ehw

Wax incident at wedding:
We're lighting the unity candle and wax drips on Will's finger. No one knows what happened except for us and my sister aka maid of honor. No one knew why we were cracking up!

See my regular blog for S&TC commentary later.

I'll alert everyone when I'm ready for visitors. Brownie points if you come bearing Venti Green Iced Teas Unsweetened!

EHW we solved your loneliness. :)

For everyone else, please forgive EHW's ramblings, she was under the influence of Tylenol PM :)

Whether it is anti-climactic or not, we all wish you all the best. Of course the prayers of this one are with you and the family.

Who am I going to chit chat with in the evenings when everything in my day has gone exactly the opposite of the plan? I don't have any other fellow "defective" friends. Who am I going to feel old with?

Hopefully you'll be able to update you blogs from time to time to let us little people let you know how all is going. Of course I'll probably get my info directly from my inside source.

Most importantly, don't forget our arrangement. As soon as you're better, it is back to work for you!

All joking aside... We'll all be thinking about you, so Get better soon. You've touched more peoples lives in more ways than you realize.

You honestly think no one else knew what happened with the wax?? I knew what happened with the wax.. how could people not know? Will twitched severely while lighting the candle. He either burned himself or was having terrifying thoughts of unifying himself symbolically with you. :)

Also, the best man's speech was not exactly a SURPRISE so to speak. Did you expect anything different? Jeez I still cringe when I think of it.

I am excited for you! I will be thinking about you lots. Best of luck! Tell them to give you a cool haircut. The way it sounds, it's kind of like a reverse mullet, no? XOXOOXOXOOXOXOO!

Jen,

I realized on Friday night that I didn't say goodbye to you or wish you well for your surgery. I felt really bad about that until I realized it'st just because you are always, always in the office and it's going to be very weird for you not to be there. So out of the ordinary, it didn't even occur to me when I left D&B on Friday afternoon.
With that said, I will keep you in my prayers over the next few days. I'm sure you'll be back before you should be and will be checking in. I'll wait to hear from Chicken or Sean about your progress.

Best wishes from the Woolleys!

This is just my story of my experience with Chiari. Until I was diagnosed, I'd never heard of it, and I just want more people to be aware of it. I'm not a doctor, so don't quote me on any of this stuff - k? If you are looking for information about Chiari Malformation, a lot of the more informative posts are the older ones.
